The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is calling for the removal of individuals identified as politically affiliated from polling station roles within the Electoral Commission (EC).
With 11 days remaining until the December 7 election, Mr. Mahama has raised concerns that the involvement of such persons could disrupt and undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
Mahama was speaking to constituents in Sekondi as part of his campaign tour in the Western Region.
He used the opportunity to respond to an alleged audio recording of individuals plotting to rig the elections in Gomoa East.
The NDC flagbearer urged the EC to ensure all stakeholders are comfortable going into the elections.
“I have seen a video from Gomoa East alleging that an NPP MP and members brought a list of 65 people to be included in the election. So if this turns out to be true, how credible will the election be?” he questioned.
