Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has reaffirmed his dedication to securing victory for his party in the upcoming 2024 general election. During his tour of five constituencies today, he ensured that the voter registration process proceeded smoothly without any intimidation or chaos.

This visit followed the Electoral Commission’s extension of the registration deadline to May 29th, allowing those who missed the initial deadline today, May 27th, to register and exercise their civic rights in the December election.

Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo expressed that the 2024 election transcends mere partisan politics; it represents a collective effort towards progress, requiring everyone’s involvement to unseat the ruling NPP (New Patriotic Party) for the nation’s betterment. Despite feeling fatigued upon arrival, he emphasized the importance of continuing to work tirelessly until the task is accomplished.

In a gesture of support and encouragement, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo distributed assorted soft drinks to party faithfuls to boost morale during the week-long registration drive. He acknowledged the challenge of registration, particularly in areas like Ashiaman, Tema Central, and Tema East, where the process faces difficulties.

He urged the Electoral Commission to consider these challenges and provide ample time for registration, especially in areas where registration turnout remains low
