Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is urging the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure a free and fair election in 2024.
He firmly opposes any attempts to manipulate the upcoming general elections.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo stated that the NDC leadership is committed to closely monitoring the EC to expose any efforts that might compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
His comments come in response to some errors by the EC in their work ahead of the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Onua TV’s ‘Maakye’ program on Monday, June 24, 2024, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo emphasized, “We need a very fair umpire for the 2024 elections as the NDC won’t tolerate any mistakes from the EC as in 2020.”
As part of the NDC Campaign Team, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo called for unity and teamwork within the party to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
The NDC has announced its National Campaign Team for the 2024 General Elections, scheduled for December.
This team is tasked with leading the party’s campaigns for both the presidential and parliamentary seats.
The campaign is headed by a notable lineup, including Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Dr. Joseph Yasmin, Richard Quashiga, and Sammy Gyamfi, among others.
The Campaign Steering Committee, which will oversee this effort, includes prominent figures such as Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo, Dr. Ato Forson, Hudu Yahaya, and Kwabena Duffour.
All campaign efforts will be coordinated under the leadership of the party’s flag-bearer, H.E. John Dramani Mahama.
The National Campaign Team and the Steering Committee will report to both the Functional and National Executive Committees of the party, ensuring effective execution of their roles and responsibilities.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bring victory to the NDC and urged party members to avoid complacency, emphasizing the hard work needed to win power.
