To facilitate his proposed 24-hour economic policy, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John D. Mahama has said, “we’d have to amend some legislations.”

According to him, the proposed amendments will focus on regulatory frameworks to protect workers’ rights while promoting a business-friendly environment.

Mahama was speaking to party supporters at Bunjai in the Salaga North constituency of Savannah region.

“We have to amend the labour laws in order that it can allow people to work and for businesses to run longer hours and people to work additional shifts,” he noted.

“We also have to amend some of the customs and tax laws so that we can give incentives to the businesses that would run the 24-hour economy.”

The former President Mahama seeks reelection to “reset Ghana” and the country goes to the polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

“If people are walking, we must be jogging; if people are jogging, we must be running; if people are jogging we must be flying, because Ghana is a nation in a hurry,” he rallied.
