Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Special Aide to former President John Mahama, has defended her boss against criticism of his honeymoon request.
In a social media post on Friday, January 26, Madam Bawa Mogtari said Ghana “has been too battered these last few years” under the current Akufo-Addo-led government.
She accused television host Paul Adom-Otchere of bias against Mahama on his ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show.
Adom-Otchere, according to her, had taken issue with Mahama for asking organised labour to give his potential next government time to restore the challenges in the system.
Madam Bawa Mogtari said such luxury of time would be needed to “reset the economy, stop the decline, stabilise the economy and restore the nation back on the path of development and progress.”
She insisted that these were “progressive thoughts” and not a sign of lacking ideas as Adom-Otchere interpreted.
“Should we not be asking Paul Adom Otchere to remove the log from his own eyes and refocus his attention on the corruption, the astonishing excessive borrowing, the abuse of power amid the return to the IMF and the general hardships bestowed upon the country as more pertinent issues requiring his attention?” she quizzed.
“Any responsible citizen should aim at being part of the solution, or lend support towards a proffered solution. You have no right being part of the problem and yet getting in the way of the solutions to those problems you helped create,” she intimated.
