President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for a reinvigorated energy sector took centre stage at the Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals Association of Ghana—Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions (CEWPAG BBEAR) Inauguration and Expo 24 conference.

Represented by Professor Joshua Alabi, President Mahama emphasised the need for bold leadership and strategic partnerships to address Ghana’s energy challenges.

In his address delivered by Professor Alabi, President Mahama underscored the importance of innovation, efficiency, and resilience in transforming the energy landscape.

He called for a concerted effort to embrace cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of energy production in Ghana and beyond.

Acknowledging the current energy crisis facing the country, President Mahama assured stakeholders of his administration’s commitment to resolving the issue upon assuming leadership in January 2025.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to work collaboratively towards sustainable solutions, emphasising that better management of the energy sector could have averted the crisis.

President Mahama also extended his gratitude to members of the Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals Association of Ghana who contributed to the technical work involved in relocating the AMERI plant from Takoradi to Kumasi.

He commended their dedication and expertise, highlighting their vital role in supporting Ghana’s energy infrastructure.

The CEWPAG BBEAR conference served as a platform for industry professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and discuss strategies for advancing electrical safety and energy efficiency initiatives in the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo regions.

President Mahama’s address at the CEWPAG BBEAR conference reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising energy sector reform and collaboration with key stakeholders to drive progress and prosperity for Ghana.
