Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Ch.FE and head of Inter-Party and CSOs/Corporate Affairs, has shared insights on why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, have created the office of Inter-Party and Civil Society Organization (CSO).

This creation of the directorate aligns with the NDC’s philosophy of social democracy and inclusivity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and engagement with various political and civil entities.

The primary goal of this new office is to foster better communication and collaboration between political parties and civil society groups in Ghana.

Dr. Otokunor explained, “The creation of this office is a testament to John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to promoting a culture of dialogue and cooperation among all political stakeholders. It is essential for promoting transparency and inclusivity in our democratic process.”

The office aims to provide a structured platform for political parties and CSOs to address common concerns and work together towards the development of Ghana. “By establishing this directorate, we are ensuring that there is a formal and reliable channel for engagement and partnership,” Dr. Otokunor added.

In his call to action, Dr. Otokunor urged all political parties and CSOs to actively utilize the new office. “I encourage every political party and civil society organization not to hesitate in addressing their issues and suggestions to the Directorate. This is a golden opportunity to foster a collaborative environment that benefits all Ghanaians,” he stated.

Highlighting the commitment of the NDC’s flagbearer, Dr. Otokunor said, “H.E. John Dramani Mahama has assured that he will keep in close contact with these organizations both before and after the elections. His dedication to ongoing dialogue underscores the importance of unity and cooperation for national progress.”

Dr. Otokunor concluded by reiterating the office’s potential impact on Ghana’s political landscape. “The establishment of the Inter-Party and CSO office is a pivotal step towards enhancing political and civil collaboration. Together, we can work towards a more prosperous and developed Ghana,” he affirmed.

This initiative by the NDC and John Dramani Mahama is seen as a significant move to promote democratic governance and ensure the active participation of various stakeholders in the nation’s development.
