The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says Ghana is in its worst state.
He noted that the country is in peril following the failure of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by President Akufo-Addo.
In his opening remarks at his first media engagement on Sunday, July 7, 2024, Mr. John Dramani Mahama took on the government for failing to heed suggestions he had made some years ago.
He said we are at a crucial moment in our nation’s history with 153 days until the December 7 presidential and parliamenatry elections.
The former president referenced proposals he made some two years ago in 2022, which he noted could help Ghana resolve its economic crisis, but the government failed to use them.
He described these remarks as a prophetic address that stated Ghana was at a crossroads.
Unfortunately, the government refused to listen to viable and alternative proposals that I offered them.
“Two years on, our country is in the worst state. In between the periods, I have been having innovative conversations with you, conversations that do not talk down or talk at Ghanaians, truthful and honest continuous conversations that admit that our nation is in peril because Ghanaians have victory in our DNA. I know that despite these perils, we can overcome our difficulties.”.
