There were towns in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region where women did not fetch water.
This was because the source of water was far from the town, and as such, only men walked several kilometres to fetch water.
Apart from this, illegal mining, which destroyed water bodies and thereby starved residents of water, is now a thing of the past.
This is because the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo Toffey, has constructed and commissioned seven water projects in these seven communities in the constituency.
The water will serve the adjoining communities as well.
The towns are Kwabre, Sowadadwen, and Anwiafutu, Navrongo, Cocoa Town, Gruma Community, and Sosuazo-Nuba.
Residents say the water they used to drink could be compared to that which was used to bathe pigs, but through the MP, they now have portable water.
They promised to vote for her in the December 7 election to enable her to continue the good job for the people of Jomoro.
