The Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, John Jinapor has observed that the energy sector of Ghana’s economy is collapsing and the only way to change that is to change the government.
He says that the manifesto of the e National Democratic Congress (NDC) will focus on delivering that plan.
He further indicated that oil production under the current government has dropped but the NDC manifesto aims at addressing.
The NDC is targeting to produce 400,000 barrels of crude oil a day if the party wins the elections to form the government, he added.
“The energy sector debt keeps ballooning, this manifesto seeks to rescue the energy sector and turn it around.
“Renewable energy forms a major part of the manifesto, access to electricity will be a focus of the manifesto,” he told TV3 ahead of the launch of the manifesto on Saturday, August 24 in Winneba.
For his part, the Minority Chef Whip Kwame Agbodza said that the 2024 manifesto will focus on key areas including corruption, job creation.
To him, the manifesto will focus on how to solve the problems created by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“The manifesto will focus on issues of corruption, state capture, issues of great concern to every Ghanaian, job creation,” he told TV3 in Winneba ahead of the launch of the NDC manifesto on Saturday, August 24.
The NDC is launching its 2024 manifesto today Saturday, August 24 at the “Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium of the University of Education, Winneba.
The event will have in attendance, the Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama who is the Special Guest of the occasion.
Also in attendance, will be members of the National Executive Committee, members of the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, Parliamentary Candidates and an array of distinguished guests from the Diplomatic Corps, Clergy, “Nananom”, Civil Society Organizations, Academia, Labour Organizations, Creative Arts, among others, a statement issued by the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi on Monday August 19.
“Various speakers will address the nation on thematic areas of the NDC’s transformational vision for resetting and building the Ghana we want,” the statement said.
