The Campaign team of the Western Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general election has been sworn in.
The ceremony, chaired by the Regional Vice-Chairman, Samuel Kwame Borlu, was witnessed by the rank and file of the party in the region.
The Regional Secretary, Joseph Nelson, administered the oath of office to the campaign team, made up of the main regional campaign team and members of the campaign sub-committees.
A press release issued and signed by the Western Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Richard Kirk-Mensah, said the regional campaign team would be chaired by the Regional Chairman, Nana Kojo Toku and the Regional Secretary, Mr Nelson, as the campaign coordinator.
Other members of the team are the Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, Emmanuel Armah Kofi- Buah, representing members of Parliament in the region, as well as parliamentary aspirants and Betty Bosomtwi Sam as the representative of the former appointees of the region.
Also included in the team are a representative of former Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Victor Mesu; the Regional Organiser, Charles Kojo Adu- Fordjour and the Regional Communications Officer, Comrade Kirk-Mensah.
The rest are the Regional Women’s Organiser, Gladys Egyin; the Regional Treasurer, Daniel Darlington Atitso; the Regional Youth Organiser, Alhaji Mustapha Iddrisu; the Regional Research Directors, Emmanuel Papa Assan and Professor George Adjei and Nana Adu Gyamfi as Chairman of the Regional Council of Elders.
Also part of the team are the Regional President of Proforum, Dr George Owusu and a representative of the Regional Cadres front, Comrade Anthony Crankson.
Addressing the team after the swearing-in ceremony, Nana Adu Gyamfi, charged members to descend to their various constituencies and integrate with constituency executives to achieve a strong retail grassroots campaign.
Mr Borlu also advised the various committee members to work hard to complement the efforts of the regional executives to win more seats in the region and win more than 55 per cent of the presidential votes.
The campaign coordinator, Mr Nelson, assured the committee of the region’s preparedness in terms of logistical support to ease their workload.
