The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Keta Constituency of the Volta Region has launched its 2024 campaign ahead of the December polls.
The event was part of the party’s strategies to announce their achievements over the years as well as to search for votes for the party in the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta, in his address during the campaign launch, stated that the party was poised to win both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December.
“Our target is to win both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections by at least 95 per cent and it is everybody’s responsibility to put up the collaborative effort for this to be achieved,” he stated.
He further stated that a vote for Mr. John Dramani Mahama would be a vote for progress, job creation, infrastructural development, better education, good policies, and others that would change the lives of many suffering Ghanaians for the best.
Mr. Gakpe, who is seeking a second term, said the NDC has been tested and trusted in terms of growth and prosperity over the years.
He urged all to stay focused and vote massively for the NDC devoid of any influence that could come from any political party.
Mr. Edem Eric Agbana, the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Ketu North, who also witnessed the launch, urged all party faithful to reconcile and unite for victory.
“It is indeed true that some of our members are still bitter within themselves after our internal elections, and l want to use this opportunity to appeal to you that the task ahead is a huge task so we must let go of everything and forge ahead in unity for victory.”
Mr. Mawutor Agbavitor, the Volta Regional NDC Chairman in an address, said that Keta was the mother root of the NDC and would be treated as such “since Keta was the original home of our founder Jerry John Rawlings of blessed memory.”
Some supporters and members of the party remained optimistic of victory when engaged by the GNA.
Other dignitaries present at the launch include Mr. Peter Nortsu- Kotoe, MP for Akatsi North; Madam Dzifa Gomashie, MP for Ketu South; Dr James Avedzi, MP for Ketu North and Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for Ketu North and other executives.
