The Deputy Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, has alleged that there are many scandals recorded under the current administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that are unknown to Ghanaians.

According to the Elembelle Member of Parliament, those being cited in the media are just the tip of the iceberg, and the most unthinkable stories surrounding some of the yet-to-be-discovered scandals, when released, would blow the minds of Ghanaians.

What is yet to come out after the December elections, he said, would not only shock Ghanaians but would definitely blow the minds of the electorates.

“The story is bigger than you have heard. Some days when you hear of it, you weep for Ghana” he claimed.

Addressing university lecturers who form the core of patrons of various TEIN [Tertiary Education Institutions Network] branches in the Western Region at a special meeting in Takoradi in the Western Region ahead of the December elections, the former Energy Minister said Ghanaians have no choice but to kick out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the numerous visible scandals recorded and the high levels of corruption displayed in government.

While corruption remains one of the key indicators determining the choice of electorates, and the candidates they consider during the electioneering period, the Deputy Minority Leader noted, that the current administration has been the worst in the history of Ghana in terms of the fight against corruption.

Having an anticipated victory in mind, the NDC stalwart noted “The NDC will always do the right thing for this country “he assured.

The subject of corruption was key in the 2016 and 2020 elections. All these two elections however went in favour of the New Patriotic Party NPP due to the trust Ghanaians had in the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.

Unfortunately, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, said, the same outcome cannot be expected in the impending December polls.

“The NDC, by all means, must win this election, and God willing, we are winning this election” he sounded optimistic.

According to Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, Ghanaians cannot afford to gamble with any other political party except to bring back the NDC into government to rescue the country.

Consequently, he charged patrons of the various TEIN branches in the Western Region to work assiduously for the NDC to wrestle power and to rescue the country from poor management, and the abysmal performance displayed by the NPP with the heightened unprecedented corruption scandals recorded over the last 7 years.

The Western Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, Alhaji Mustapha Iddrisu Dokurigu also charged the University Lecturers to sow seeds in the organization and mobilization of students for an effective TEIN and its growth in the Western Region.

The patrons who were present assured the Deputy Minority Leader of their commitment to work hard for the party to win the impending elections.

They revealed plans to carry out what they call a traffic campaign to whip up the interest of Ghanaians for massive voter turnout and to increase the voting percentage of the Presidential candidate of the NDC John Dramani Mahama and all parliamentary candidates of the party.

The selected patrons of TEIN who attended the meeting were drawn from various tertiary institutions across the region and pledged to work seriously at their respective campuses to improve the electoral fortunes of NDC and for the party to secure a decisive victory in the December polls.
