The NDC PROFORUM youth wing has launched a grassroots initiative, taking to the streets with a door-to-door campaign aimed at engaging voters and promoting voter education. With just weeks remaining until election day, the young members are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to mobilize support for their party.

Armed with campaign materials and informational pamphlets, these dedicated youth ambassadors are engaging directly with residents, discussing key political issues, and encouraging voter participation. Their mission goes beyond mere canvassing; it’s about fostering dialogue and ensuring that every voice is heard in the democratic process.

The NDC PROFORUM youth group, embarked a door-to-door campaign in constituencies including; Sunyani East, Sunyani West, Jaman North, Tain and Dormaa East in the Bono region to garner votes for the NDC party and educate citizens on how to prevent spoiled ballots in the upcoming election.

The youth wing, known for their active engagement in political activities, has taken an initiative to reach out to voters directly in communities across the country. Their goal is to promote the NDC party and encourage citizens to cast their votes responsibly to avoid spoiled ballots and determined to mobilize support for the NDC, highlighting the party’s achievements and vision for Ghana’s future.

The members of the NDC PROFORUM youth group have been visiting Nursing Training Schools, Churches and households engaging with residents, and discussing the NDC party’s policies and manifesto. Additionally, they are providing voter education to ensure that voters understand the importance of correctly filling out their ballots to avoid any potential issues on Election Day.

The National Deputy Youth Coordinator of PROFORUM, Benjamin Kwabena Afram, told 3NEWS’ Claude Kumi Abisa that through their door-to-door campaign, the NDC youth group aims to increase support for the NDC party and help citizens exercise their right to vote effectively. By addressing concerns about spoiled ballots and providing valuable information on the voting process, they are working to ensure that every vote counts in the upcoming election.

“Our goal is to empower our communities with knowledge about their voting rights and responsibilities. By going door-to-door, we are able to have personal interactions with voters, address their concerns, and emphasize the importance of turning out on election day. Our democracy thrives when citizens are informed and active participants” he emphasized.

The door-to-door campaign was met with positive responses from the residents, with many expressing their support for the NDC and pledging to vote for the party in December.

President of the Bono region PROFORUM, Samuel Kweku Wuaku, Says they are hopeful that the exercise will contribute to increasing the number of parliamentary seats in the region. “Some of the orphan constituencies that the NDC couldn’t win in the last election, we are hopeful that we’re going to flip a lot of parliamentary seats in these constituencies”

For his part, the member of parliament for Tain constituency, Sulemana Adama popularly known as Ramzey expressed gratitude to the PROFORUM Youth for the effort to augment campaign in his area.

However, he called on his constituents to vote and retain him as their MP as he is a worthy ambassador for the constituency advocating for their needs in parliament.
“There is no better representation for Tain at this moment than the NDC’s candidate Sulemana Adama”
