The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has dismissed comments made by Bryan Acheampong, Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi and described them as contemptuous.
At a campaign rally in Nsawam last week, Bryan Acheampong claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not win the upcoming elections, boasting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has the necessary resources and personnel to secure victory by any means.
In response, Ablakwa ridiculed Bryan Acheampong’s statement, suggesting that the NPP would hastily hand over power, just as Bryan Acheampong did with the withdrawal of his bid to purchase the SSNIT hotels.
“The state capture, it is not only lands, it is not only bungalows, it is not only state hotels, hotels belonging to SSNIT, which the Agric Minister, the man who is making a lot of noise these days that he won’t hand over power. When we showed him something small, he handed over the hotels, he hurriedly handed over the hotels and ran for his dear life.”
“So, as for this claim that he won’t hand over power, let’s treat it to the contempt it deserves,” he said.
