The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu, has vehemently criticized recent developments at the Accra High Court involving the NDC’s Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, regarding the ongoing ambulance trial.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Cape Coast, Prof Asiedu accused the government of a deliberate attempt to imprison the diligent MP for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency.

“This revelation confirms the long-held suspicions about the devious methods employed by Godfred Dame and the government he represents,” Prof Asiedu asserted.

He emphasized that the NDC is vigilantly monitoring the situation and will not permit the government to manipulate the judicial process to falsely implicate Ato Forson.

Prof Asiedu voiced his concerns about what he perceives as persecution against the Minority Leader and accused the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration of compromising the integrity of the Judiciary for political gain.

In a show of solidarity, Prof Asiedu announced plans to attend the next court session to support the embattled MP and Minority Leader.
