The family of the late Madam Araba Tagoe, a former Member of the National Executive Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has generously donated medical supplies to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital for smooth operations.

The supplies comprised suction machines, stethoscopes, examination gloves, methylated spirit, nebulizers, bed mats and a drip stand.

It had also presented various party memorabilia like a range of JM posters, stickers, party flags and NDC-branded scarves to some constituencies in the Central Region, including Cape Coast South and North, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese and Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA).

The family led by Madam Tagoe’s only surviving son, Mr Thomas Hughes Amissah, known by many as Chief Skilful, said the donation was in commemoration of Madam Tagoe’s first anniversary.

At the Cape Coast Metro Hospital, Mr Isaac Awitor, Health Information Manager, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the family and appealed to all well-meaning philanthropists to support the hospital.

The beneficiary constituency leadership also thanked them and pledged to work harder to win the December polls to compensate for Madam Tagoe’s works.

Chief Skilful implored the rank and file of the party to unite and assiduously work towards ensuring victory in the December 7 elections in honour of Madam Tagoe.

He further reminded Ghanaians that the current economic challenges facing them were a clear indication of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) failure to govern the nation.

For the family, the inflated cost of living, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates and the unprecedented levels of unemployment were evidence of the government’s lack of vision and innovative ideas.

“People are struggling to afford necessities, such as proper meals and decent housing.

“The mismanagement of the country’s resources is severely impacting the lives of Ghanaians. It is imperative that we vote out the NPP,” the family declared.

Chief Skilful said his mother’s political legacy and aspirations lived on and the party must work to honour her memory.

Madam Araba Tagoe, known for her passionate advocacy for her political beliefs, passed away at the age of 71 on August 15, 2023.

She was a staunch politician, gender advocate, humanitarian, and mother figure for many, aside from her family.

Acknowledging her dedication to promoting the visibility of women, the family pledged to hold that legacy high continually.

Reverend Father Prince Obo Mends of Christ Church Anglican Cathedral in Cape Coast had earlier prayed with the family and unveiled Madam Tagoe’s tomb in her hometown at Bronyibima in KEEA where he expressed a heartfelt wish for her to continue to find eternal rest and peace.

Rev Obo Mends also prayed that the evil intentions of their adversaries be transformed into blessings by divine providence so that their endeavours could thrive.
