A total of 113 young men and women in the Builsa South constituency have been offered an opportunity under the Youth in Apprenticeship Programme to learn a trade.
The initiative, which is being sponsored by the Member of Parliament, Dr. Apaak, will offer the beneficiaries an opportunity to be trained in various skills and offered support and equipment after training.
The initiative was launched on March 29, 2024, in the constituency.
The 113 young men and women were offered the opportunity to be trained in ten (10) different trade disciplines, which include hairdressing, dressmaking, welding and fabrication, carpentry and joining, auto mechanics, air conditioning and fridge repairs, mansonry, and vulganizing.
They have described the day as the happiest in their lives since the opportunity will make them. self-employed and serve as an avenue for them to train others.
The beneficiaries were provided with training tools and equipment valued at over GHS 150,000.00, with the cost of training being GHS 64,330.00 already paid to the master trainers by the Hon. Apaak.
Addressing the residents, the Hon. Dr. Clement Abasinab Apaak reiterated his desire as an accomplished educationist to provide the needed support to constituents in all spheres of life and not to give priority attention to only formal education seekers to the disadvantage of other areas of life.
The Builsa South Lawmaker further disclosed that the instant intervention is coming on the back of others, including financial support for about 236 students last year.
The auspicious event, which was well attended by constituents, was equally graced by the following regional executives and stalwarts: Mr. Ibrahim Mutawakilo (Regipnwl Organizer), Jonathan Abdalllah Salifu (Regipnal Communication Officer), Madam Fawzia Abagnama Yakubu (RegionalWomen Organizer), Mr. Martin Aka-ere Ayamga (Bolga Central Chairman), and Mr. Rolanda Ayorogo, a member of the regional working committee.
