A former National Organizer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Kofi Adams has alleged that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) is in talks with some smaller political parties to buy them out of the presidential race.

According to him, they are enticing some of the candidates with huge sums of money to lure them into stepping down to create confusion on the ballot paper of the presidential elections.

Speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ programme, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Buem Constituency explained that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) know that once the positions on the ballot paper change, it will affect the position of John Dramani Mahama thereby confusing the public as to where he will be on the ballot paper.

“The New Patriotic Party are very much aware that they are already being kicked out by Ghanaians because of how poorly they have managed the economy and inflicted hardships on Ghanaians so they intend to do anything that will create confusion and possibly affect the chances of John Dramani Mahama,” he stated.

“We are very much aware of how the NPP is trying very hard to manipulate the system to their advantage, but we will continue to engage Ghanaians and educate them on the need to vote for John Dramani Mahama,” he added.

However, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, says he is excited about the 8th position on the ballot paper for the presidential election.

In a post on Facebook,John Mahama stated that the number eight stands for hope and change if they win the upcoming presidential elections.
