Security Analyst Richard Kumadoe has alleged that the appointment of Commissioner of Police (COP) Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations is part of a plan to remove the current IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The announcement of COP Yohuno’s appointment was made in a press statement released by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr. Eugene Arhin, on Wednesday, July 17.
The statement highlighted COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno’s distinguished career, which spans over three decades and includes various key positions within the Ghana Police Service.
“COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno is a distinguished law enforcement officer, with a career spanning over three decades, and has held various key positions within the Ghana Police Service.”
“President Akufo-Addo extends his heartfelt congratulations to COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno on his well-deserved appointment and wishes him the very best in the discharge of his duties.”
In response to this announcement on Ahotor FM’s morning show ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem,’ hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu, Mr. Kumadoe suggested that the appointment supports the conspiracy theory that the government is setting the stage for the removal of the IGP.
