An operative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) James Agbey has told the Abetifi lawmaker Bryan Acaheampong not to attempt to cause troubles in this year’s elections.

He says that the NDC will meet the NPP squarely if they attempt to rig the elections.

Agbey’s comments come after the Food and Agric Minister affirmed while speaking at a campaign rally in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, that the NPP “would do whatever it takes to win the elections” because it is “a political party that has pastors, imams, and traditionalists.”

“Burn the sea if you don’t understand, we’ll win and continue with our good works,” Mr. Acheampong noted.

According to him, the NPP is an election-winning machine, one that makes it practically impossible for the National Democratic Congress to win this year’s election.

But in a statement reacting to him, James Agbey said “”This latest threat from Bryan Acheampong is coming on the back of similar statement from Wontumi and other leading members of the NPP. Wontumi is on record to have said that the NPP have one million ways to win elections and will win election 2024 by every means possible.”

“I am by this public statement sending a warning to these NPP elements to watch their ways – We are fully aware of the ongoing NPP agenda to illegitimately hang on to power in 2024 even as it is clear that Ghanaians don’t want them in office. Let it be on record that the NPP don’t have a single brave man in their party. We have more braver men in the party of Rawlings than the NPP can actually boast of,” he added.

Below is his full statement…

For Immediate Release

Monday 12th August 2024

Rawlings boy warns Bryan, Napo, and Wontumi not to make any wrong move in Ashanti and Easten regions

I have been watching carefully as the warlords of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Bryan Acheampong, Bernard Antwi Bosiako(Wontumi), Matthew Opoku Prempeh(Napo) and even sidekicks run amok, competing in a heavily subjective issuance of political threat with incendiary utterances, signposting the NPP’s antics for the dastardly when they loses in the forthcoming general elections.

Yes, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong is once again beating the war drums in ancipation of reliving the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence in election 2024.

Bryan at a political rally on Saturday said the NPP will use every dubious means possible to win election 2024. He says the NPP won’t handover power come what may.

This latest threat from Bryan Acheampong is coming on the back of similar statement from Wontumi and other leading members of the NPP.

Wontumi is on record to have said that the NPP have one million ways to win elections and will win election 2024 by every means possible.

Napo on the otherhand has been at it all over the place.

The only deductions we can easily make from such unguarded rants and recklessness is that the NPP has an agenda to destabilise this country.

We have duly taken notice of their evil intention to disrupt the 2024 polls and plunge the country into chaos.

Every right thinking Ghanaian knows that the aim of the NPP is to set the stage for violence, instil fear in Ghanaians, discourage them from actively participating in the electoral process thereby giving room for them to perpetrate all manners of electoral malpractices (as evidenced by their actions in Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections and Techiman South in election 2020.

In fact, this brazen authoritarian course that has picked up steam in recent times needs to be condemned by civil society and the good people of Ghana.

Clearly, the NPP is not preparing for elections, rather the party is actively planning to scheme itself into power in 2024 using violent uprising as replacement for peaceful polls.

Well, the NDC being a direct descendant of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council(AFRC) and Provisional National Defence Council(PNDC) should have served as a pointer to these NPP elements the need to maintain political decorum and primacy of national interest in the build-up to the forthcoming elections.

It is however unfortunate that NPP leaders have refused to shed its penchant for violence and blackmail as the center piece of their agenda ahead of the general elections.

I am by this public statement sending a warning to these NPP elements to watch their ways – We are fully aware of the ongoing NPP agenda to illegitimately hang on to power in 2024 even as it is clear that Ghanaians don’t want them in office.

Let it be on record that the NPP don’t have a single brave man in their party. We have more braver men in the party of Rawlings than the NPP can actually boast of.

We won’t allow the NPP to threaten the entire country in an attempt to wreck our democracy and throw the nation into chaos.

The NPP shouldn’t dare us because if they do, there will be serious consequences – We didn’t go through tutulage under chairman Rawlings for nothing.

I, James Agbey, in my capacity as an operative is ready to deploy all the skills that chairman Rawlings thought us to outwit Bryan, Napo and Wontumi in both Asante and Eastern regions.

At this juncture, we can only caution these NPP elements and also assure all Ghanaians that the NDC will never kowtow to the NPP under no circumstances.

I can assure them that the NPP will be sent parking out of the Jubilee House in 2024 through the ballot box, and there’s absolutely nothing they can do about that. However, if the NPP decides to choose violence then we are ready for them.

Nevertheless, as activists
We will remain focused in jealously protecting our democracy on December 7th.

Signed:

James Agbey –
NDC Operative
