Reverend Francis Nana Agyei Antwi, also known as Rev. Obofour, the leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC) Worldwide, has voiced his support for the return of John Dramani Mahama as president, stating that Mahama’s comeback is not a taboo.

Speaking during a fellowship with the former president on October 1, 2024, alongside other pastors, Rev. Obofour highlighted that there is nothing wrong with Mahama seeking another term.

He said, “We give thanks to God. My name is Francis Antwi, but people widely know me as Rev. Obofour. Your Excellency, may God bless you for giving us pastors this opportunity to fellowship with you.

“This is not the first time you have invited me. All these testify that it’s not because you need something from God’s people that you have invited us.

“I am an Akan and a Ghanaian, and returning to the old isn’t a bad idea; coming back is not a taboo.”

During the gathering, the pastor also raised critical economic issues, urging Mahama to address rising prices of building materials, such as cement and iron rods, in his campaign and when he becomes president.

He also asked Mahama about his plans to stabilize the Ghanaian cedi, which has significantly weakened against the dollar, and how he would tackle the rising costs of public transportation, which are affecting ordinary citizens.

Rev. Obofour concluded by encouraging Mahama to maintain strong communication with the clergy if he returns to power.
