On July 3, 2024, Osman Ayariga, the Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), called on all Ghanaian youth to actively participate in this year’s elections.
In an interview with Kwame Minkah on Dwaboase on Power FM, Osman emphasized the importance of this election for the youth and their future.
Osman criticized the current Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, stating that it has failed and been irresponsible towards the country’s youth. He noted that the youth are fed up with the corruption and issues under the current government and will resist any attempts to undermine their future.
Osman outlined several policies that the next NDC government, led by John Mahama, will implement to support youth development. These include Establishing a separate Ministry of Youth Development to oversee all youth development agencies and address the youth’s needs, Implementing a youth entrepreneurship development program to provide training and financing for young entrepreneurs and Introducing the 24-hour economic policy to create an economically enabling environment for the youth.
Osman also announced that the NDC Youth Wing will launch a “Youth Manifesto” on August 12, 2024, as the party believes this election is critical for the youth and their future. He emphasized that with the support of the youth, the NDC will capture power and work towards a brighter future for all Ghanaians.
