The Eastern Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Richard Nyarko, has assured Ghanaian youth of the party’s commitment to abolishing the betting tax if elected in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Speaking on Radio 1 monitored by ModernGhana.com, Richard Nyarko emphasized the NDC’s determination to rally youth support, ensuring their voices and concerns are heard.

“Our mission for the 2024 election is that 80% of the youth in the Eastern Region should stand with the NDC,” Nyarko stated, highlighting the party’s focus on engaging and attracting young voters.

He criticized the current administration for taxing bet winnings and promised relief under an NDC government.

“To the youth who go on sleepless nights to bet only for Akufo-Addo to take ten per cent of your winning…when he has no hands in strategic betting, NDC is telling you that it will scrap the betting tax for you,” Nyarko affirmed.

With the 2024 elections approaching, the NDC’s outreach to Ghana’s youth underscores its commitment to fostering positive change and prioritizing the concerns of the younger generation.
