Former Finance Minister Seth Terkper, has toured the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region  to inspect various developmental projects initiated under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) administration, which have since been stalled or abandoned.

The visit, led by Anyaa-Sowutuom NDC Deputy Communications Officer Mr Ralph Apetorgbor, followed the launch of Apetorgbor’s book, “For The Records.”

The book documents the developmental achievements of the NDC in the Ga Central Municipal Area, aiming to bring attention to the halted projects since the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration took office.

During the tour, Mr. Terkper visited key sites, including the abandoned Ablekuma-Newtown Hospital, the non-operational Abaase market, and a public toilet facility, all of which were started under the NDC but remain uncompleted.

Additionally, he inspected other projects such as the Olebu Community Health and Planning Services (CHPS) Compound and the Anyaa bus terminal, both of which were completed under the NDC administration but have remained unused since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) came into power on January 7, 2017.

Expressing his concern, Mr. Terkper criticized the current government for not continuing these projects, which he believes are vital for the socio-economic development of the Constituency and the country.

“These projects were designed to improve the lives of the people in Anyaa -Sowutuom and surrounding areas.

It is troubling to see them left to decay without any effort to complete them,” Mr. Terkper stated.

He called on the government to prioritize the completion of these initiatives, emphasizing their importance to the local community.

“The people of Anyaa- Sowutuom deserve to see their taxes at work and to benefit from the promises made to them,” he stressed.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Apetorgbor explained that his motivation for writing “For The Records” was to counter misinformation about the NDC’s projects in the constituency.

He emphasized the importance of documenting the party’s achievements to prevent them from being overshadowed by false narratives.

“This book is more than just a collection of photographs and text; it is a comprehensive record of our contributions,” Mr. Apetorgbor noted.

He highlighted that the publication serves as a rebuttal to claims made by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), showcasing the impact of the NDC’s previous government in the Anyaa -Sowutuom Constituency.
