Mr Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to take action against the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, if the NDC wins the upcoming elections.

Mr Gbande asserted, “The day the NPP loses the election, we won’t wait for any handover; we will arrest Chairman Wontumi, and I will personally lead the officers to arrest him.

We will pick him like a fowl and take him away” he said during his tour of the Ashanti Region

His remarks have generated widespread attention, sparking debate over the implications of such statements amid heightened political tensions.

While some have expressed concern over the tone and language used, others view it as a sign of the NDC’s determination to address perceived injustices.

As the elections draw nearer, this statement adds to the intense atmosphere surrounding the contest and reflects the deep-seated rivalries between the NDC and the NPP.
