Hundreds of residents in the Angor enclave of the South Tongu District, Volta Region, poured onto the principal streets of Dzetorkoe and Dordorkope to join the “24-Hour Economy Health Walk” organized by the South Tongu Parliamentary candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Participants were mostly adorned in “24-hour economy” and Mr. Lukutor Maxwell-branded T-shirts and other NDC-identifiable attire.

Constituency and branch executives, along with Mr. Lukutor Maxwell, the NDC parliamentary candidate for South Tongu, participated to explain the 24-Hour policy and urge the constituency to vote for him and John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections.

Various speakers at the end of the walk lamented the current state of affairs in the country, claiming that Ghana was better off under the previous NDC administration.

They called on South Tongu constituents and NDC members to support the party’s return to power.

In an interview with Adom News, Mr. Lukutor Maxwell said the motive behind the health walk was to unite party members and appealed to residents for their support in the December elections.

He promised that, if elected, South Tongu would see significant development under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership.

Mr. Maxwell appealed to his constituents to vote for him and bring back Mr. Mahama for a prosperous South Tongu, assuring that the next Mahama administration would not abandon them.

Miss Alice Nartey, the Women Organizer for South Tongu, emphasized that the NDC’s hopes for victory in this year’s election rely on South Tongu, urging all women in the district to vote for John Dramani Mahama and Mr. Lukutor Maxwell.

“On the day of the elections, think about how the price of commodities has increased, including maize, salt, beans, and cooking oil since the NPP came into power in 2017…and vote wisely,” she added.

Mr. Hekkings Glover, the Deputy Youth Organizer for South Tongu, said the next NDC government would focus on youth and urged them to campaign for more votes.

Mr. Henry Ampah, Former Constituency Chairman NDC for South Tongu, stated, “The 24-hour Economy simply means a game changer, food for everyone, and jobs for the people.”

Finally, some participants in the health walk pledged their full support for the parliamentary candidate and John Dramani Mahama in the December 7 polls.
