Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed his readiness to help the NDC win the 2024 general elections.

He believes the NDC is the best alternative to lead Ghana and, despite his health challenges, he is committed to supporting the campaign for victory.

On Sunday, June 9th, 2024, NDC presidential candidate Mr. John Dramani Mahama visited Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo to officially welcome him back from a medical checkup in the United States.

During the visit, Mr. Mahama thanked God for Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s recovery and assured him of any support he might need.

Mr. Mahama expressed his gratitude for Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s unwavering support, noting that even during his illness, the former Chairman continued to provide valuable suggestions and advice.

Mr. Mahama emphasized that Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s return is timely as the party ramps up its campaign efforts, and he highlighted the importance of his experience in campaign activities.

The NDC, Mr. Mahama stated, he needs the full support of all its members to secure a win in the upcoming elections, and he will rely on Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s expertise and dedication.

In response, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo thanked Mr. Mahama for his visit, stating that it greatly motivates him during his recovery.

He pledged his full support to the NDC leadership as they prepare for the election on December 7th, 2024. Despite his ongoing treatment, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo is confident he can actively contribute to the campaign and to the party’s vision, including Mr. Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy proposal.
