The Deputy General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the December 7, 2024, general elections.

Mustapha Gbande was emphatic in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’ that his party will not tolerate any form of intimidation tactics from the governing party to rig the upcoming election.

“For them (NPP) to think the only way to retain power is to kill again, they will not have their way. For them to think that the only way is to rig election won’t happen again in this country,” he vehemently cautioned, adding that the NDC will not do any illegality, “we won’t mobilize anybody”.

Mustapha Gbande was reacting to the numerous disturbances in the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise across the country.

He accused the Electoral Commission (EC) and the NPP of conspiring to frustrate new registrants he believes are mostly NDC members.
