The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to spearhead an industrialization drive in Accra, particularly in Amasaman, if elected president in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Mahama emphasised that this initiative would align with the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, aiming to address the country’s unemployment challenges.

During his campaign, Mahama visited several constituencies, including Amasaman, Domeabra-Obom, Trobu, and Anyaa-Sowutuom, to promote the party’s key policy proposals.

In Amasaman, he promised to designate the Amasaman-Suhum stretch as an industrial zone, encouraging investors to establish factories and operate under the 24-hour economy policy.

“Everyone goes to Tema to put up a factory. We’ll arrange this place when we come into power. Whoever would want to put a factory would come and put it here. We’ll designate the Amasaman-Suhum stretch as an industrial zone, and they’ll operate under the 24-hour economy policy.”

He also reaffirmed his commitment to improving the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, and addressing its challenges.
