Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has embarked on a two day tour in the Greater Accra region.
This tour is directed towards building a united NDC ahead of the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. The former President together with his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, met the greater Accra regional executives and constituency executives of the party on Monday, 11 march for the day one of his two-day tour.
John Mahama met members of the NDC at the Dodowa to discuss strategies the party can adopt to have a resounding victory come December 2024.
Addressing the former president and candidate of the NDC, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore stated that, the NDC could only win the elections when they are united.
He underscored the need to train constituency executives in the usage and of drones to monitor proceedings at the various polling stations since the previous elections have proven that elections are won at the polling stations.
The Secretary for the Greater Accra Caucus of Members of Parliament, Hon. Sam George, revealed that the caucus is ready to extend a helping hand to the various constituencies in the Greater Accra region to enable them have a smoother election campaign.
In his statement, candidate Mahama admonished all party executives and Members of parliament to be vigilant both at the polling stations and at the various collation centers in order to ensure an accurate data collection.
The meeting with NDC members’ and executives is part of the flagbearers building Ghana Tour.
After the meeting the regional and constituency executives, John Mahama and his entourage are expected to pay a courtesy call on the Greater Accra House of chiefs as well as a visit to some markets within the Greater Accra Region.
For his day two tour, John Dramani Mahama is expected to visit the Spare Parts Dealers at Abossey – Okai and other parts of the Greater Accra region to discuss how best the business could be elevated when he is voted into power as the next president.
