Former President John Dramani Mahama has pledged that a future National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration will tackle the accommodation issues faced by university students across the country.
In a recent address to students at the University of Ghana in Accra, Mr Mahama outlined his plan to collaborate with the private sector to construct new hostels and provide adequate accommodation for students.
The NDC flagbearer emphasized that his administration will focus on resolving various challenges in the education sector if the party wins the December 2024 elections.
“One of the focuses of the new administration would be to partner with the private sector to build more hostels on campus,” he stated.
“That is why we suggested that when we come into office, we will have a conversation about Ghana’s education and see how we will be able to raise funds for tertiary secondary and basic education,” he stated.
