Former President John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to appointees of President Akufo-Addo’s administration, cautioning them not to flee the country after the 2024 elections.

According to him, his government, should he be elected, will pursue legal action against anyone involved in corrupt activities during their tenure.

Mahama’s remarks came during the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s National Campaign Tour in Ada, Greater Accra Region.

Addressing party supporters and the general public, he reiterated his commitment to fostering transparency and accountability in governance.

He assured that no one found guilty of corrupt practices would escape justice.

“Those who know that they have in any way caused a loss to this country, millions of cedis, should not even try to leave the country after the elections because my government will make sure it prosecutes them all. They must account for the good people of Ghana,” Mahama declared.

The former president explained the need for integrity in public service, stating that any individual who wishes to serve in his administration must be ready to uphold the highest standards of accountability.

“Before you accept to work with me come 2025, you must, first of all, agree to be accountable and transparent with the good people of Ghana,” Mahama asserted.

Mahama’s comments are part of his broader campaign message, which focuses on restoring confidence in the government by promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
