The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy visit to the former Chairman of the party, Honorable Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, at his residence to extend a warm welcome after his return from a year-long medical treatment abroad.

The visit was a significant part of efforts to welcome him back and foster discussions on the upcoming challenges, as well as to exchange ideas on how the party can unite in preparation for the 2024 election. The primary focus was on strategizing to alleviate the severe poverty and economic hardship faced by Ghanaians, with the ultimate goal of securing victory and bringing about positive change for the nation.

Moving forward, the former president’s engagement revolves around themes of unity, hard work, and strategies to regain power. John Mahama emphasized that the former chairman’s dedication and commitment to the party make him a valuable asset. Despite facing health challenges, the former chairman remained devoted to the party, consistently updating Mahama on key issues.

Mahama expressed gratitude to all friends and party members who supported the former chairman during his illness and treatment abroad. Responding to the president’s call, the former chairman thanked God for his recovery and expressed readiness to reconnect with his constituency. He pledged to devote himself fully, promising to be available round-the-clock for party activities.

He stressed that the upcoming 2024 election is not just about the NDC but a national imperative to rescue the country from economic hardship. He assured his support for the former president, vowing to mobilize his base within the party. He believes that with hard work and meticulous management of election activities, victory can be achieved for the party.
