The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in Parliament has asserted its claim as the rightful majority, vowing to occupy its designated side when Parliament reconvenes.

At a press conference in Parliament, Adaklu MP and NDC Chief Whip, Governs Kwame Agbodza, reaffirmed the NDC’s position as the majority and stressed that the caucus will act decisively to maintain that stance.

Agbodza issued a caution to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus, urging them to focus on essential legislative matters that directly benefit Ghanaians.

He made it clear that the NDC caucus would not support any agenda that could add financial burdens on the populace.

Addressing the tension surrounding the Supreme Court’s recent stay of execution concerning four vacant seats, Agbodza refuted claims that the NDC aims to exploit its numbers to obstruct government business.

He emphasized that the NDC caucus is committed to fulfilling its legislative responsibilities without impeding Parliament’s work, despite the ongoing legal proceedings.

As Parliament reconvenes, all eyes will be on how this declaration will impact the dynamics between the NDC and NPP caucuses in the chamber.
