The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has conveyed a message of solidarity to Ghanaian workers on the occasion of May Day, expressing his readiness to collaborate with them in reshaping the nation’s trajectory.

He stressed the importance of collective effort in lifting the nation out of its present challenges, highlighting the need for unity and collaboration to achieve meaningful progress.

“The forthcoming elections on December 7 offer us a pivotal opportunity to alter our current trajectory and set a new course. During my first tenure as President, I steered the affairs of this nation through similar challenging times.”

“We overcame a significant energy crisis, implemented a universal salary structure, spearheaded transformative infrastructural developments, and built a more resilient economy,” he said.

Mr Mahama also urged workers to embrace his 24-hour policy proposal aimed at reshaping the country to create jobs for the Ghanaian people.

He emphasised the potential of this policy to significantly impact employment opportunities and improve the economic prospects of the nation.

Mr Mahama reiterated his commitment to implementing policies that prioritise job creation and economic growth, emphasising the importance of innovation and forward-thinking strategies in achieving these goals.

He encouraged workers to support his vision for a prosperous Ghana, assuring them that their hard work and dedication would be instrumental in driving the nation’s progress.

“Drawing from this experience, I am prepared to work with you again to commence the vital repair work our country needs after enduring such turbulence. We have achieved progress before, and I am confident we can do so again.”

“A central element of my vision for Ghana’s recovery is the implementation of a 24-hour economy. This initiative is designed to generate sustainable, decent job opportunities and promote growth and prosperity for everyone.”
