A spokesperson for John Dramani Mahama’s campaign, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, has said that Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s first speech as running mate lacked wisdom, decorum and leadership.
She is of the view that the running mate of the governing political party had a fine opportunity to sell himself and his message to the people of Ghana.
However, he used the opportunity to sell an anti-Kwame Nkrumah agenda instead of making the message of the NPP known.
“Wisdom, decorum and leadership exhibited by *Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang* and what we just witnessed from Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempreh outdooring,” she said in a post shared via social media.
Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh was unveiled in the Ashanti Region on July 9, 2024, as the running mate of the flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
In a speech to accept his selection, the Energy Minister indicated that his government, under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has performed better than any other government in Ghana’s history.
He described the first President of the country as “that your Kwame Nkrumah”; a comment that has been met with outrage.
