The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madina Constituency Youth Wing Working Committee and Welfare Scheme has been launched.

The committee’s primary objective is to mobilize support for the party in its endeavour to win power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7, 2024, Parliamentary and Presidential Polls.

Comprising individuals from diverse backgrounds such as the law fraternity, academia, clergy, ghettos, okada riders, head porters, traders, artisans, and students from the party’s branches across institutions in the Madina Constituency, the team is geared towards enhancing the party’s grassroots support.

Additionally, a Welfare Scheme aimed at soliciting funds for the Youth Wing was also unveiled during the launch.

During the launch event in Madina last Friday, Dr. Nana Kwaku Aseidu Nketia, the Vice Chairperson of the NDC National Youth Working Committee, urged the committee members to dedicate their time and work tirelessly towards ensuring victory for the NDC in both the Parliamentary and Presidential Polls on December 7.

Dr. Nketia said the need for the current youth generation to emulate the dedication and sacrifices made by the party’s predecessors, citing figures such as Jerry John Rawlings, to secure a win in the 2024 elections and steer Ghana away from what he described as the NPP government’s tyranny.

“All the prominent figures in our party contributed significantly during their youth, leaving their mark in the party’s history. It is now our turn as the youth to make history by securing a massive win for the NDC in the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential Polls,” he urged.

He also appealed to the youth to set aside bitterness and focus on the NDC’s vision for the country, especially in addressing the unemployment challenges faced by the youth population.

“It’s not about Hon. Sosu alone, but it’s about the NDC. Let’s vote for Sosu-‘Zu’ and John Dramani Mahama-‘Za’ come December 7th, 2024,” he emphasized.

Leading the Advocacy

The Deputy National Youth Organiser of NDC, Osman Ayariga called upon the youth to champion the advocacy led by Madina’s Member of Parliament, Hon Francis-Xavier Sosu, in promoting Private Member Bills for the country’s development.

“We must highlight the positive impact of our representatives in Madina, and Hon. Sosu and JM are our representatives for the December polls,” he added.

Various speakers from the Regional and National Youth Wing of the party, including Hon. Yaw Brogya Gyemfi, Deputy National Director of special operations, Hon. Solomon Nii Afutu, Secretary of the National youth working committee, Greater Accra Regional Youth organizer Amos Amose Blessing (The ORACLE), and Deputy in charge of operations Commander Alhaji Judah, also commended the Madina Youth leadership for their inclusivity and encouraged them to work diligently for the party’s success in December.

Commitment to inclusiveness

The Youth Commander of Madina Constituency, Robert Kwesi Vagah, assured stakeholders from the Region and National levels of his outfit’s readiness to collaborate with everyone to retain the MP and secure a win for Mr. Mahama in Madina come December 7.

“With over Seventy Percent of the youth comprising the voter register in Madina Constituency, we are determined to engage with all sectors of society to garner support for the NDC Parliamentary and Presidential candidates come December 7th, 2024,” he reiterated.

Commendation from MP

The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu Esq., commended the youth wing and all stakeholders for the successful launch of the committee. He pledged to lead a campaign of inclusiveness to bring victory to the NDC in the upcoming elections.
