Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr Kwame Asah-Asante, says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto provides Ghanaians with a vision of hope and a clear roadmap for the future.

He stated that the manifesto outlines various challenges facing the country and presents solutions aimed at addressing them.

Dr Asah-Asante noted that the manifesto not only highlights existing problems but also reflects the party’s evolving ideology.

Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on Monday, August 26, he said, “It also underscores their ideology in a certain way that is also commendable. We have seen a lot of them and we continue to see improvement. If you look at what they churned out last elections, we have seen changes. It is important and it is to be expected.”

“That is a function of what they have picked on the ground and that they want to hop on certain things and then de- emphasise on certain areas and bring in other areas to bear on society,” he said.

Dr Asah-Asante explained that although the manifesto addresses every challenge facing the country, it must be evaluated to ensure its promises align with the needs and interests of Ghanaians.

He suggested that thorough scrutiny and questioning are essential to verify the feasibility of the proposed policies and the party’s capability to deliver on their commitments.

“They should not have something that will be at variance with our interests. What they have, I know it reflects the true position of the situation on the ground,” he said.
