The NDC’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has promised that the next NDC government will prioritise the construction and reconstruction of markets to support trading activities.
Recognising that many women in Ghana are traders, she emphasized the importance of providing improved business facilities. This initiative aligns with the NDC’s key policy of establishing a Women’s Development Bank aimed at empowering women in business.
On her three-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, on Tuesday, October 29, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured women traders that the NDC would prioritize their needs and promote their economic growth.
Addressing an audience in Asankare in the Asante Akim South Constituency, she highlighted the party’s commitment to uplifting women to drive economic development.
“We vote for development projects, and if progress isn’t being made, it’s time to consider a change. We should support a party that prioritizes development—this is why voting for the NDC is the right choice.
“The NDC is the only party that builds market and the Kejetia Market is a testament to that so vote for the NDC.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also visited Drobonso in Sekyere Afram Plains and the Juaben and Ejisu Constituencies, where she presented the NDC’s policies and encouraged constituents to support the party in the December elections.
Nana Bediatuo Ofori Amanfo I, the Kyidomhene of Asankare, praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for conducting a dignified campaign, free of insults, setting a commendable example in politics.
