The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed that it will look into the various scandals that have beset the nation during the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
The NDC’s plans to battle corruption and advance good governance if elected in the 2024 elections were presented by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the member of parliament for North Tongu, during the introduction of the party’s second version of its 2024 manifesto.
Ablakwa outlined a number of scandals that the party intends to look into, including the SML, “Agyapa,” Maths Sets, PDS, Sky Train, Pwalugu Dam, Ghana’s management and spending on COVID-19, “Appearance Fees,” ambulance spare parts, and unlawful sole-sourced contracts, among other things.
“[We will] Launch inquiries into the numerous scandals that have rocked the nation under the corrupt Akufo-Addo/Bawumia/NPP government. These inquiries shall include investigations into Ghana’s COVID-19 management and expenditures and the SML, ‘Agyapa’, Maths Sets, PDS, Sky Train, Pwalugu Dam, ‘Appearance Fees’, Ambulance Spare Parts scandals, illegal sole-sourced contracts scandals, among others,” the MP is quoted as saying in a report by citinewsroom.com.
He added that they would look into State capture and reclaim all of the nation’s stolen lands.
Ayawaso West Wuogon election violence, 2020 election-related deaths, and the unsolved murders of Ahmed Hussein-Suale and Silas Wulochamey are just a some of the significant unresolved crimes that the North Tongu MP said they would reopen investigations into.
