Veteran media personality Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, known affectionately by his initials KKD has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of “selling Ghana to themselves” for personal gain.
In an interview on Accra-based JoyNews’ AM show on Monday, July 29, the respected broadcaster likened the government to selfish shepherds who sell off sheep without the owners’ knowledge.
“I see a Ghana where the shepherd is so selfish that everyday, he goes out with the sheep, he sells some of the sheep quietly and does not let the owners know. The owners are the people of Ghana. The shepherds are those elected and appointed to serve and lead,” KKD said.
He asserted that instead of selling national assets to foreign investors for mutual benefit, the ruling New Patriotic Party has turned to selling “everything of ours for cheap” solely to themselves.
“Whatever little there is in it, they are selling the nation to themselves,” stressed the outspoken media personality.
He questioned whether Ghana truly has leadership at this time because, in his view, it seemed to be “each one for himself, God for us all.”
Speaking about the upcoming elections, KKD said no family member or close relative of his will vote for the ruling NPP.
