Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, is alleging that the campaign team of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has met to plot some actions against members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This meeting was organised following the fallout from the Agyapadie document, which has generated mixed reactions in both traditional and social media.
According to Dr. Apaak, the campaign team has evaluated the narrative surrounding the document and realised it is having an adverse impact on the Bawumia campaign.
As part of the plans by the NPP, the MP said they have plotted to fabricate stories and lies about functionaries of the NDC.
He also revealed that a communication directorate member of the NPP has filed a petition with the IGP to investigate some functionaries and members of the NDC.
He also stated that the party is planning to secure a court injunction to prevent further discussion on the matter.
But Dr. Apaak said no amount of machinations and plots will stop them from discussing the document.
“Let me state forcefully that no one can use any institution of state, police or the courts to gag us from discussing the Agyapadie document and its contents.
We will continue talking about the Agyapadie blueprint and will not relent in pointing out the evidence confirming its implementation.
The authors of the Agyapadie document know themselves, and they are certainly not members of the NDC nor its functionaries.”
Read the dull statement below
The NPP and the DMB campaign at a meeting on the Agyapadie document concluded that its continuous discussion is detrimental to their campaign. Consequently, they decided to do the following;
- Falsely accuse functionaries and members of the NDC of authoring and publishing it;
- Going to court to get an injunction placed on the document, its circulation and discussion in the media.
Many may have become aware that a member of the NPP communication directorate has filed a petition to the IGP to investigate some functionaries and members of the NDC. Watch out for phase two, which is court action.
Let me state forcefully that no one can use any institution of state, police or the courts to gag us from discussing the Agyapadie document and its contents.
We will continue talking about the Agyapadie blueprint and will not relent in pointing out the evidence confirming its implementation.
The authors of the Agyapadie document know themselves, and they are certainly not members of the NDC nor its functionaries.
We will not be gaged nor intimidated.
