The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on July 21 2024, continued his ongoing nationwide community outreach in the Savannah Region.

He has met with the customary monarchs, Imams, clergy, the youth and people from all walks of life in the region, where he shared his vision with them. Dr. Bawumia has had fruitful discussions with the people of Savannah on their well-being.

Dr Bawumia while attributing his policies announced that he has provided initiative for each individual with 1 mobile phone.

“This is a national exercise that we are rolling out around the country, we will partner with mobile phone companies to provide phones to the public so that every month you pay 1 cedi, and by the time you finish paying the phone becomes yours” He stated.

This is to build a digital economy and improve the lives of the people by providing affordable smart devices and ensuring everybody has access to digital instruments.

Reacting to Dr. Bawumia’s comment, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s deputy director of elections Mahdi Jibril described it as a trick to win Ghanaians.

“Now Ghanaians do not have a mobile device and have to go to Ghana Telecom to call their loved ones, so Dr Bawumiah is now providing us with” mobile devices

Mahdi Jibril argues that anything from Dr Bawumiah is nothing other than falsehoods and maneuvers to Ghanaians.

He emphasized that the former President and flag bearer of the New Democratic Party(NDC) John Dramani’s initiative to formalize the “Okada” business, which was put on hold following their defeat in 2020, NPP opposed it bitterly.

Mr. Mahdi Jibril made this known on Ahotor 92.3 FM’s morning show with citizen Kofi Owusu.
