Ghanaian market women who are irritated by the economic hardship have slammed president Akufo-Addo.
The market women portrayed that they are upset with some policies like the introduction of e-levy and the excessive borrowing of money that has not reflected in the country’s development.
In a video spotted by TIGpost, the women were seen passionately voicing their concerns and rating Akufo-Addo’s performance as president over the past four years as zero.
“As for Akufo-Addo, he has ruined the NPP because we had no idea he was going to be such a dishonest leader.”
“Nana Addo, in particular, is deceitful. He lied his way into power. Everything he said about John Mahama was untrue. We didn’t experience this level of hardship in the past, even when we were paying school fees. Now, he says we shouldn’t pay school fees, but he has also reduced school meals to just waakye and groundnut soup.”
“Out of nowhere, he introduced the e-levy. He has been borrowing money since the days of Yaa Asantewaa, but it isn’t being used for anything productive in the country. Children are sent home from school while mothers are in the market struggling to make a living.”
“How much was petrol before he became president? Wasn’t it 14.00? He promised a reduction when he became president. Is it fair for a grown man like him to lie to us? He isn’t considering the future, only thinking about today. What is the meaning of this?, the market women “cried out”
