Former President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, 9 February 2023, joined the Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah to open a six-unit classroom block with an office complex for the Bagabaga Community in the Salaga South Constituency in the Savannah Region.
The project which was solely funded by the MP is expected to solve the lack of classroom problem in the area that is affecting teaching and learning in the constituency.
As part of the opening, Mr Mahama planted a tree in front of the school to loud cheers and applause from the school children and their parents.
He used the opportunity to call on parents to make sure their children take education seriously since education is the bedrock of the development of every area in the country.
Mr Mahama was in the Salaga South Constituency for the funeral of the late Lepowura MND Jawula, a former President of the Ghana Football Association.
Many former government appointees including party executives were in the company of the former president to the area.
