Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has served notice to President Akufo-Addo that the 2024 general election is not a coronation.

The Tamale South Member of Parliament stated without mincing words that former President John Dramani Mahama will win the election and President Akufo-Addo will have no option but to hand over to him.

Introducing Mr. Mahama to deliver the final address at the launch of the campaign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Haruna Iddrisu declared Mr. Mahama the “humble giant.”

He said the country was in crisis and we needed an experienced leader to manage our affairs, not an experiment.

“President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, be reminded that the 2024 presidential and parliamenatry elections is not a coronation. It is an election that John Dramani Mahama will win, and you have no option but to hand over power to him, respecting the will of the Ghanaian people,” he declared.

He stated that the former President is coming to the presidency with a wealth of expertise, not as an experiment.

“Former President John Dramani Mahama is coming to the presidency with an unparalleled rich experience, not an experiment. He’s been Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President, Acting President, and President. He will come to the presidency with a renewed sense of vigour and self-correction to write the wrongs of the past, in particular the wrongs of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
