Political scientist, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has questioned the competence of Attorney General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame following the latest ruling by the Court of Appeal on the Ambulance case.
In the Court of Appeal ruling on Tuesday, July 30, Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson was acquitted and discharged.
Speaking to Starr FM in a conversation about the ruling, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah described the Attorney General as incompetent, stressing that his incompetence must be looked at.
“His [Godfred Yeboah Dame’s] pronouncements are very, very, very unfortunate. Sometimes I’ll take his incompetence as that’s what it is.
“The Attorney General must be looked at in that regard. He brought about the loss of this case by his conduct, and he must be looked at. The Attorney General is not supposed to be a crook or a corrupt person who takes cases based on what he wants or somebody has won,” Dr. Amoako Baah stated.
In his submission, the political scientist said there is no need to have a Minister of Justice until the country find an incorruptible person.
“We don’t have money. We have to cut down the number of government employees, and this is one of them. Why do you want to have a Justice lawyer, an Attorney General lawyer? We have so many people to advise him…All we need is a competent, non-corrupted person to be Attorney General, and that’s good enough,” Dr. Amoako Baah said.
