Fiifi Asante Mpare, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Communication Officer for the UK and Ireland Chapter, claims that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh lacks the qualifications required to be nominated as a running mate.

The decision by the Vice President to settle on him, he said, is exciting news for the NDC; he is not a threat to the umbrella family.

In an interview with Rainbow Radio 92.4FM in the United Kingdom, Mr. Mpare stated that Dr. Opoku Prempeh had various flaws that will work in their favour.

He noted that the choice of running mate for the NPP cannot compare to Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang since the two are far apart.

He said the professor and running mate of the NDC is more credible, competent, and have the requisite skills to partner with a presidential candidate in winning an election.

“We have patiently waited for this moment, and they have finally settled on him. He is not a threat to our campaign as a party. We don’t care if he is arrogant or incompetent. We don’t care about that. We are indeed excited that he has been selected by his party. We know about his weaknesses, and that will certainly go to our advantage as a party. The selection of NAPO is good news, and now we can begin the real politics. We will use his weaknesses against him,” he told host Dr. Ren.

Meanwhile, he has advised Ghanaian voters to vote massively against the governing NPP because it has messed up the economy and worsened the plight of Ghanaians.

He also declared that the former Trade Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who is now the founder of Movement for Change, is not qualified to be president.

He said Mr. Kyerematen was part of the mess caused, and so he does not deserve to be elected president.

He referenced the inability of the former minister to successfully make the Komenda Sugar Factory function.
