The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Former President John Dramani Mahama has underscored the important roles traditional and religious leaders play in the the governance of the country.

Mr Mahama stated that the unity and input of traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members are crucial in implementing effective policies and initiatives that address the people’s needs.

He said these on his Facebook page on Monday, August 5 regarding his second day of the #Mahama4Change2024 campaign in the Upper East Region.

Mr Mahama met and hosted an interaction with chiefs, queen mothers, and Christian and Muslim leaders in the Zebilla constituency as part of my programmes.

“Our conversation brought home, yet again, why governments must be deliberate in building a united country and ensuring that development is total and relevant to the people.

“I not only reassured the people of my commitment and that of the NDC to continue working together to reset our country, but I also reminded them of the significant achievements of previous NDC administrations and my extensive personal experience. These will combine to create a brighter future for all Ghanaians.

“The unity and input of traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members are crucial in implementing effective policies and initiatives that address the people’s needs. We can strive towards a more inclusive and prosperous Ghana for all.”

He added “I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with the people on my rounds and look forward to continuing our dialogue as we work towards building the Ghana we want together.

“Thank you for your support. I am confident that together, we can bring about the change Ghana deserves.”
